The Greater Cleveland Alumnae Chapter conducts the following programs in the Community

 

Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy

Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy Committee plans and implements a program for middle school aged young ladies. This program is designed to demonstrate the relevance of scholarship, provide experiences in the areas of mathematics, science, technology, literature, non-traditional careers and personal development, while reinforcing the importance of scholarship, community service and sisterhood.

 

Dr. Jeanne Noble Delta GEMS

Delta GEMS Committee plans and implements a mentoring program for 9th-12th grade young ladies. This program pairs young ladies with a Delta mentor who provides guidance, support and participates in special activities that aid them in their personal, educational and professional development.

 

EMBODI: Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing independence

 

Scholarship Committee

Scholarship Committee coordinates the process whereby monies raised by the Greater Cleveland Alumnae Chapter are awarded as scholarships to High School Seniors in the Greater Cleveland community. In the past few years over $90,000.00 has been awarded to area students.

  • Annual “Red Hot for Scholarship” Cabaret

 

Project A.C.E.

  • College tours to Baldwin Wallace and Kent State University

  • Fall Harvest Literacy Program

 

Arts and Letters Committee

Arts and Letters committee coordinates a reading program in various Elementary Schools, and recommends activities designed to broaden the cultural and literacy scope of the Chapter as well as the Greater Cleveland Community.
