EMBODI
EMBODI: Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence is the signature program of our 24th National President, Cynthia Butler-McIntyre. During the 2008-2010 biennium, our focus is to establish male partnerships and collaborators and to develop and implement program components for EMBODI. The program implementation will take place in three phases.
Phase I: Educational awareness for the membership thru a panel discussion. A model panel was held during each Regional Conference. Chapters were directed to replicate the panel discussions within their chapters and communities.
Phase II: The Greater Cleveland Panel Presentation was presented in February 2010. It featured experts in the fields of education, psychology, social work, child welfare, medical health and law enforcement, a parent and a student.
Phase III: Implementation. Our EMBODI Program parallels the programs of Delta Academy and Delta GEMS, focusing on Mind, Body and Spirit. In March 2010, the committee will “roll out” the program at the chapter meeting, and to the community at an Open House; introducing the male partners and collaborators, the EMBODI membership for 2010-2011, and the program components. We plan to meet on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Special activities and field trips will be planned to augment and enhance the program. There will be a tutorial, special interest and projects summer program, June to August, 2010.
