Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s first public act was the Women’s Suffrage March in Washington D.C., March 3, 1913. (Watch Video!) This courageous undertaking laid the ground work for the sorority’s vision of social action and public service through its Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. Greater Cleveland Alumnae Chapter has had much success in providing innovative programs. Particularly fundraising activities under the Educational Development thrust has generated in excess of $250,000 for scholarships over the past five years. These scholarships support Greater Cleveland area students in their endeavors for higher education.
